University Project
CARDITEST is a concept application, that was created in response to the RSA Brief - Healthy Hearts, aimed at reducing cardiovascular disease rates linked with health inequalities in the UK.

BRIEF OUTLINE


Royal School of Arts Brief
The RSA set a brief that was centred around Cardiovascular Disease. CVD is the leading cause of death within the UK, and the RSA wanted a concept application that could help lower these figures and beat Cardiovascular Disease.
USER PROBLEMS
Research
When carrying out user research, it was clear that the main reason behind the decline of Heart Health of those who live within deprived areas, was due to the barriers and behavioural changes that are preventing their participation in regular health checks. Preventing them from accessing early prevention methods decreasing their chances of survival.

CONCEPT PROBLEM STATEMENT
'Living in deprived areas reduces an individual's likelihood of accessing health checks and prevention methods for Cardiovascular Disease, increasing their risk of premature death.'

PROBLEM SOLUTION IDEA GENERATION
Research
After being made aware of the problems users face when trying to attend heart and health checks. To counter this, looking into possible solutions gives a starting point to the brief, and works towards conceptualising a solution.

LOW FIDELITY WIREFRAMES
Concept
Once the concept was created, analogue wireframes where made to experiment with potential layout options for the application. Once the correct layout was created, this was taken into Figma to begin the High Fidelity Wireframes

APPLYING GAMIFICATION METHODS TO APPLICATION
Concept
Since the user problems have created a negative behaviour and user mindset towards Health Checks, It was critical that the application offered user motivation to to help chnage the user behaviours. To do this, the implacation of gamification methods where added to the application to increase user motivation. Such as the addition of a scoreboard and health score.




HIGH FIDELITY WIREFRAMES
Prototyping
Using the Low Fidelity Wireframes as a starting point, The high Fidelity Wireframes where created using the brand colour palette, bringing the project together.

USER TESTING
Prototyping
With the Prototyping finished, it was time to user test the prototype to ensure that the user experience was as expected and ready for general release. Moderated user testing was used to test the prototype, with the following alterations made post feedback.


FINAL DESIGN
Prototyping
With the alterations from user testing complete and a successful second user testing session held, the final screens where finished and ready for submission.
